Belgrade doesn't have a food scene. It has food. The difference matters more than you'd think.
You can walk into almost any kafana in Belgrade and order something that has been made the same way for sixty years. Nobody will tell you it's 'elevated' or 'deconstructed'. It will simply be good — often very good — and it will cost you about four euros.
This is not nostalgia. It is a food culture that never stopped being about food.
